Good find Hammer,

That's not bad if the floor and transom are solid. The way he described the condition of the engine makes me think it's in need of repowering. I bet he'd take $2k for it. If you could make a case for the engine being shot, he might take even less than that.

SPoke to the guy today by email. He stated the transom is solid and the floor has a small soft spot by the seat. Fuel tank and guages are fine. But what worries me is that he only had the boat for about a year. :-/ ???

This guy is willing to come down in price. Might be a quick fix with the carbs ?? Here is a copy of his email that he sent me. Somebody might want to check her out ?

The motor runs ok, I had the carbs rebuilt, fairly new plugs and coils, new fuel pump, new water pump and gear oil. I took it out once and it wouldnt hit top rpms. Just sounded like it was booging. I think its giving a weak spark but I have not had it checked but I know all 6 plugs are wet with fuel after running. I did the compression check myself on the motor cold and all 6 seemed ok. I looked at the cylinders when heads were off and I could still see the hone marks no scoring or scuffs? It might be an easy fix or not I dont know but its sitting and ive given up on it b/c of money. No soft spots on the bow. I will come down on the price b/c of trailer but my plan is to buy a small boat 14-18 ft with small outboard and would trade. Lewes is about 30 mins away not bad.

Sounds like I could have a match. Thanks Hammer, I e-mailed him with the info on my boat and a possible trade. I'll let you know how I make out.

No match. He wants a smaller boat and motor than mine. I'm going to end up pulling my outboard off, junking the hull, and selling the trailer.

18 foot cobia bowrider 1989 with 150 johnson short shaft very low hours, also an easyloader type trailer that was used twice a year by the original owner. Hull needs a new gas tank and seats and cushions redone. I would like to keep the engine and dump the rest. My friend had a V20 cuddy and I've since been bitten by the V20 bug. So far only garbage locally but I can wait it out.
