Notice where the Fuel fill and vent is now located ? This is because I flip the new tank around so the fuel line is at the back of the boat.
Notice the chip close to the rubrail? During the rebuild I assume the rubrail covers this area I was wrong !

Nymack66:
How about some lessons learned on using Duratec? Its sounds like you still need to buff it out to get the finish you got now? What size paint gun tip did you end up using? Any problems?

Well the Duratec helped in regards to thinning the Gel Coat, Looks great however you still have to buff the crap out of it. First sand the ruff spots with a 220 grit then a 600 all dry sanding using a palm sander then I started buffing with a 2000 grit compound (use a spray bottle with water to keep it wet) then use the 1000 compound (which removes 600 to 800 marks ) then wash off with water ,next follow with a wax of your choice and wipe or buff off this is exactly what you see.
If I were to do it all over again , I will pass on the Duratec one gallon is 75.00,then after the buffing I really question my self how much of it was left if any.
As for the tip on the spray gun I ended up using the 2.0 mm from Harbor Frieght you were right on with your idea on the other post.
If you need the info on the compound see this link

Download the PDF I use the AquaBuff 2000 and 1000 , by Duratec :) this stuff is the best

"Notice where the Fuel fill and vent is now located ? This is because I flip the new tank around so the fuel line is at the back of the boat"
Did that put the fuel pick-up at the front of the tank?

Thanks to all you guys on this board, your ideas and suggestions all made this project worth while. I quit numerous times mentally, I log on read a few posts, silencing the critics at home and family circle in the end I follow it to a resolve.
I am so happy with the results, because this hull and the way it looks are beyond my expectations
God Bless

i hope it will fill with the tank turned around that may cause a filling issue. unless you have the transom higher than the bow so the tank can vent or the vent must be at the front of the boat on the tank. i've tried that in another and it didn't work.

My gas station is on a slight hill and I have the exact problem when I am parked down hill. All he needs to do is find a pump on a little slope and he won't have any problems.

Guys,
My trailer is pretty high and sits level with my truck, I am not too worried about the fueling issue, what I am worried about is when I and on the lake bow up half way on plane!
I have given this great deal of thought since I was “changing something” from OEM,
I always have doubts, this setup will hopefully work, my concerns are when I am force to drive half up on plane what to expect in regards to not having the vent “clear” since it’s at the back of the boat, Will this create fuel starvation issue?
Testing will tell, I will fill her up and test on the lake, Stay tune, I have Buddy who tells me he can insert a fuel vent any where with a six pack and some JB Weld :)
Today I finish all the electrical and rewire everything from dual batteries shut off switch, re-located the batteries and open a new hatch door directly in front the cuddy (wasted space now in use) I fired her up testing everything light, charging, fuel sender etc, looks like my fuel check valve is not kosher I will replace it, This was base on the testing with 10 gallons of fuel in the tank it took forever to prime the bulb, then with the engine in the driveway on the hose it goes soft ?
I now have to finish the Radio, AMP and speakers.
I was planning for a splash down today with it did not happen, Hopefully this weekend.

Well I finally launched the V this weekend, happy to report everything went without a hitch.
One minor issue with the reverse shifting seems to be extremely hard; I will re-visit it this weekend.
I clock exactly 40 MPH using my GPS, I tested the transom in every which way I could no flexing or issues to report.
No leaks, my critique friends kept telling me to expect leaks!
I am still in the process of applying some OEM decals etc I will post the final pictures once completed.
I am relived needless to say the lease to feel and see the final fruit of my labor at its best.
An old timer I met down at the ramp told me “One of the best looking V's I have ever seen” brought very big smile to my face for sure.
Once again guys thanks for all your help and advice.
