Cy, good luck in there buddy. I was an active participant in the birth of my son, the doctor had me hold my wifes leg while she pushed. It was the most hectic, stressful moment of my life. But at the end when you hold that baby and he/she looks into your eyes its the most amazing feeling in the world. Good luck to you, your wife and the future V-20 mate.

Good luck and congrats. We had one two years ago and its been a real treat. I do not push much stuff but do youself and your wife a big favor and go buy the book "Baby Wise". It really helps on getting a child in a good cycle and it has really been a bleasing. Our daughter has been sleeping through the night sense about 6 months old and I credit this book. Its been passed around from person to person and everyone that has used the book rrecomends it to someone else.

It certainly isnt something you see everyday. I like to equate it to your wedding day. Their are professionals all around telling you what to do and when to do it. All you have to do is show up and enjoy the moment. Just remember not to break the 90 degree rule. Stand at her side and dont go past 90 degrees . you can see all you need to from there!!!

Good Luck

Just went through the same thing 2 and half months ago. It is the MOST moving moment you'll ever have. Trust me, it isn't as bad as you might be thinking. Your wife will be going through the hard stuff. Good luck!

Thanks guys.....the waiting and not knowing WHEN is killing me. I just want it to get here. The wife is in a lot of pain and discomfort...and tired of being pregnant. All advice has been absorbed....I will let you all know anything as soon as I get a chance to breathe after this thing happens.....

One thing you may already know but I will say anyway, the first kid is almost always a few days late.

well her due date is Dec 28th officially, but a specialist we went to said it would be more like Dec 23rd. So who knows....the doc did say though that he would not let her go past her due date of Dec 28th. They will induce her.

As long as it is before Dec 31st at midnight so I can cheat Uncle Sam.:nut:

Congrats! Nothing as special as your first child's birth!

I agree on the first being late...ours was a week over, they induced and after 12 hours she must have been sleepy or stuborn like her dad cause they had to go in after her!

Same as everybody else, first one is unpredictable. they induced my wife 3 times two days apart each time, still a no show. 2 weeks later kid is ready and then it all goes well. enjoy the experience, the good times are just beginning.

oh as far as cheating uncle sam, don't worry, you will never get ahead of taxes by having kids. it's a law of diminishing returns, but well worth the investment..

Better invest in a nice set of earplugs. Either that or learn to sleep in one hour increments.

Seriously, hope it all goes smoothly. Congrats to the father to be!!

You are about to become one happy and changed man. A guy never knows this no matter how much he is told by his buddies. It is the best feeling. CONGRATS and good luck!!!!!!

and hearing the answer what, over and over and over!!

Then you going to say why did i ever teach it to talk :head::head::head:

They made my wife go in one December 30th to induce labor and we had our little TD (tax deduction) later that day. Watching the birth is nothing but amazing and it is not gross like one might think. The little tax break was just a bonus.

When you least expect her to pop,
that is when it will happen, so go fishin.

Oh yeah in the delivery room, don't take anything she says seriously.
