Listen, on my home computer we have ended up with a virus that opens up endless browsers with pop ups on them and McAfee updated software does not recognise the problem and obviously can't deal with it. We cannot open a internet browser withour it going ape sh!t.
So do any of you guys got a suggestion as to what to do or what product will get rid of this crap. My neighbor suggested a product called Trend Micro ???
we have to go get the disk of whatever because we cannot open a browser

You had me going for a minute there WILLY, I thought you were thinking about going politically correct. Have you tried to delete ALL of your temporary files yet? It could be a cookie that is doing it, hence why your scanner isn't catching it.

wife(ceo) much more computer savvy than yours truly spent hours doing that and other things and it still pops up, will open 60 to 90 browsers in minutes

what kind of sites are they? you will need Nortons Antivirus your McAfee is doing nothing that software doesn't check the entire computer like Nortons. Get rid of McCrappy and get Nortons you should be able to fix it that way. if you can get a copy of Adware if might fix it as well.
Are you running Explorer? if so they isn't worth a crap either try to get Mozilla Firefox browser it is much safer and faster.

ok first is to clean the computer, Trend Micro is the balls! You can get a free scan and fix by going to there site and using "House Call"
after you figure it all out you need to get rid of cookies and temp files at least once a week!
Then download a program called adaware from Lava soft, its also free, this will get rid of all the spyware that gets downloaded without you knowing.
Then there are free antivirus programs that are much better them store bought junk, i use Avira and it works pretty darn good.
Tell the wife to see if she can do a system restore back to a date before this happened, it will come backbut it might give you time to go to trend micro and do a scan.
if that doesn't fix it then you may need a pro, or reformat and start new, but that will lose all that you have saved on the hard drive.

I just had a bout with the root_kit virus that sounds about the same. Maybe google root kit and see what solution you come up with. Mine was on a work machine and we had a tech take care of it. It hides itself in the registry.

You may already know this but many people don't so...
You can close windows as fast as they pop up by holding down the ALT key and hitting F4
This won't solve your root problem but it may help to break the chain of self propagating windows.

Also open up the task manager before you open your browser. Go through the processes part and see which program is working that doesn't look like it should be there when the windows are opening up. Right click it and end the process on it to see if this stops your windows from opening rapidly. If so go in and do a search for that program in your PC and delete the file.

I had the same problem, a friend told me to use windows live onecare, you can get a free 90day subscription. I used it and it cleared mine. When my free sub ran out I found it online for $50 but went to Walmart and found it for $25. You can load it from the disc and clean your machine.

I had the same problem a few years back, then someone recommended i use AVAST(antivirus) and AD-AWARE(cookie destroyer), both are FREE and work very well.
The advast home lets me know if i stumbled into a bad site, and then i manually set up a restart scan to clean my system.( I do a restart scan once a month)
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Ad-aware free, i use to scan my system to rid any hidden cookies(I do this at least once a week), and its what i would use to remove the cookie thats causing your problem.
