MJ-
He says that thing only weighs 4100 pounds, seems a little light whataya think? I ask because I am limited in towing at 5K and never thought I would get a 25' boat behind me.

add the trailer engines and fuel and gear then you will be way over 5000lbs. and if a 25 footer is that light esp. with a w/a then it will bounce all over the waves.

I have a 23 footer at 3000# dry weight, add motor 110 gal gas and everything else with trailer I am over 5000 easy.
From what I could see he is a 4000# Dry hull so add twin motors 110 gas and all the stuff + trailer you over 6000#

But its a nice boat for the cash!!

I don't know about the 25', My 23 sticks to the water like a fly to a glue strip!

im sure it does. but that weight for a whole rig sounds very light. that 25 should at least be 4000-5000 lbs, just the hull. it sounded like he meant 4100. with engines and fuel and trailer. with those calc;s the hull would come out to be too light.

that is a very sweet rig for a good price, if those motors are low hour and tight and I did not have my V I would be traveling

He claims 4,100 with bracket, still sounds a little light as that would put the dry hull close to 3900-3950. If you figure 4,100 + 750 for the engines, add in another 700-900 pounds of rigging and such in the hull, 150 gallons of fuel at roughly 8 pounds a gallon your at a conservative 6850 or so. Add in another 1000 pounds for the trailer and figure a handful of gear and your at an easy 8000 pounds +. It's all the add ons that rack up the weight in a hurry in a boat. Still that is a D@MN fine boat for the money, and looks to have good reliable power for it as well.

Approximately what year is the hull? Can you tell from looking?

1988 was the first year for the 25 footer.

I am sure they are plenty heavy, These boats are solid!! 4K for the hull then adding fuel, motors, hard top, and gear you are close to 7K in the water.

I have heard that the older ones like mine were much heavier then the later models made by May Craft??

That boat also has a bit sharper entry then mine and 18* dead rise, I have a 20* dead rise on the 23, not sure on my entry.

we put my Wellcraft 250 on the scale with an aluminum trailer and the twin 225's on a bracket. no fuel, water, nor black water. it weighed in at 8900 lbs. but the Sea Ray 250 with the 310 hp I/O and steel trailer weighed in at 7200 lbs

And to think, I towed both of them boats with a JEEP CHEROKEE:party:.

that boat is stored at the IOP Marina, not one of the cheaper places to keep a boat, he's probably getting eat up with storage on it
