Well it all started back in June when my wife went under the knife for a fifth bi-pass, in her left leg this time.
Fast forward to the past few weeks. the wound opened up and they have been packing it twice a day since, well yesterday she went to a birthday party for her nice, while tere the kid said your leg is bleeding aunty, My wife thinking that it was just a spot said its ok.
Then she started not to feel so well and thought her sugar was dropping (she is a diabetic also) and took some sugar tabs, then got up to go to the bathroom and just about fell on the floor, and thats when it happened, the graph they did on the vain in her leg let go and she started to bleed out!!
There was a girl there that had some first aid training and put pressure on it while they waited for the ambulance! The EMT's got there and took over. They got her to the ER were this hospital does not have a vascular surgeon, In the mean time I started heading to the hospital and call her doc which was on call and the nurse patched me to him, I filed him in and he called the hospital, when I got there they were hanging 2 units of blood and perssure bandage the leg so they could transfer her to Cape Cod Hosiptal were here surgon was waiting.
She got a total of 4 unitys of blood and after 5 hours in surgery she was patched up. She was transfered from ICU today to her own room and is getting IV antibiotics as she has fever. They now have her on a wound Vac, this thing is amazing!! heels you in like 1/2 the time with out it, she has had to use this before and always worth its wait in gold!
She will be there about 2 weeks but she is eatting drinkig talking and all all just fine, you would never know that just 24 hours earlier she was laying on the floor bleeding out!

Ok just venting a little!

BS will be here in the morning to work on the boat with me and hope to have that motor puring by the end of the day!!

Being a diabetic, if she has problems healing, you might want to contact a hyperbaric chamber and get a consult. It's amazing what oxygen does for healing. Hope all goes well MJ.
