Well as some of you know I got very sick last week and was in the hospital since Friday.

Last Monday while trying to fix the motor and not being able to get the lower unit off, I tried to kick it lose, well since I can't feel my feet, I did not realize how hard I was kicking it, some hours later when I went in the house and took my shoes off I saw that the right foot was soaked in blood.
Seems that i broke the toe and drove the nail in to my foot. So I cleaned it up and went along my way, Thursday i noticed it was infected, I called the doc and he gave me some antibiotic. I took a dose Thur and again Friday morning before going to BS.
I guess the working in the hot sun at BS was just the right weather to get things moving!! Cause as the what seemed min went by I got sicker, first tired, then over heated, thirsty, then puking! BS kept saying I looked like crap, but when I started puking he said we are off to the hospital!
He drove me the almost 40 miles to my hospital and dropped me off at the ER so I could be near home.

When they took me in I had a fever of 103, foot was all bloody, and infection was killing me!
This is not the first time I have been near death with infection and they let me have it with both barrels!! They started me on Vanco IV 2 grams which even for a huge guy like me that's a lot! twice a day buy Sunday morning it burned my vain out so they has to start a new IV, and changed the meds to something lighter as my blood levels showed me over dosing on the vanco.

Any way they came in this morning said your fever is gone as of last night and if you want o go home I can, I said see ya! I have to take meds for 2 more weeks and if there is any more sign of infection go right back!! I am walking with a cast shoe, which is going to see the trash real quick!!

I was making a plan to fish and try the motor tomorrow but that has been side tracked as I was trying to do stuff today and almost past out, seems I am not quit up to par yet, so I guess I will have to wait till next week, which really sucks as this is the last week of the Fluke season!! :bat:

So in closing I just really need to thank BS not for only giving me a deal on a motor, but for being a stand up guy, and a good friend!! He did not have to do any of this for me, from the deal on the motor to taking me to the hosiptal to finishing the motor and delivering my truck & Boat to my house while I was layed up in the hospital!!

All I can do is say THANK YOU!! You are the best!!

Welcome home MJ, glad to hear you will make a full recovery.

BS - you were supposed to deliver the boat here in Pennsylvania,
just kidding, you just proved that there are good people in this world
and I think that all of us on this board would do the same for each other.

Hey, this thread got me thinking... If MJ kicks the bucket, do we have somebody in line to take his place in order to keep this board going? It's times like these that should make us take a serious inventory on what's important...

:-)

Just kidding MJ--I'm very happy to know you're well and I thank the good Lord that BS was there and had the mind to run you to the ER... thanks BS!

MJ I'm glad you're going to be ok! Now for the lecture. You are not a young bull anymore, walk down the hill and keep the boot on until they say to take it off! BS I'm glad you moved back east, you are a true friend. BillY mac
